Easter 2009

The lovely Washington spring rains prevented our Easter egg hunt from being outdoors, but it was still fun to watch Evelyn's face light up when she came down the stairs and saw eggs! We scattered Oliver's eggs across the kitchen floor and "hid" Evelyn's around the living room.

Evelyn spots her first egg.

Oliver really felt that the gathering basket made a better chew toy.

We also filled Easter baskets for them to open after lunch. Evelyn really liked her bunny ears. Oliver really liked the paper grass. We are still finding paper grass in the carpet despite multiple vacuumings.

Snowshoeing in the Olympic Mountains March 2009

Last weekend we decided to take advantage of the awesome weather and go up to the mountains. We had been trying to go snowshoeing for months but the weather and Mike's weekend off never seemed to coincide.
We threw the gear and the kids into the car on Friday night and made the three hour drive to Port Angeles. We never would have made it if we hadn't stopped for caffeinated bevereges and chili dogs.
On Saturday morning we headed up to Hurricane Ridge and played in the snow for a few hours. Oliver slept the whole time and Evelyn made us stop every five minutes to feed her a cheerio. The air was clear, the views were amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Who is Oliver?

Oliver is my sidekick. He is absolutely the happiest when he is as close to me as possible. During his rare independent spurts he packs in a lot of activity. His current favorites are pushing around his trucks, eating every speck of rubbish he finds, and chasing Evelyn until she screams.

Who is Evelyn?

Evelyn is a curious toddler. Her current fascinations are monkeys, bugs, eggs, walking places by herself, airplanes and stickers.
